I have specific disability needs. Will a stairlift be suitable for me?

Our stairlifts have certain options available to configure the stairlift to your needs. Please call to talk over the options available for your circumstances.

Why are stairlifts so expensive?

The price of a stairlift depends on the stair configuration. Typically a curved stairlift will be 3 times the cost of a straight stairlift. That being said, most companies offering stairlifts for sale have suppliers to pay, employees, sales people and other business expenses. The same applies to mobility shops who pass details to manufacturers for commission. All these costs are passed onto potential customers in the price quoted.

Why are you cheaper than the competition?

Budget Stairlifts from initial business start-up has been set up with low cost in mind. From the use of efficient, low-cost transport, buying direct from the manufacturer and using one of the most reliable brands on the market, keeping warranty cost low and breakdowns near zero, we keep our overheads minimised.

Are your stairlifts brand new?

We stock brand new Brooks 130 straight stairlifts that are ready for installation within a day of the survey being completed. Reconditioned Acorn and Brooks stairlifts are stocked subject to availability. The Brooks 180 curved stairlift is not stocked as standard because of the complex design needed for each specific staircase.

Do they come with the manufacturer’s warranty?

All our new and reconditioned stairlifts come with a full year’s manufacturer’s warranty. All stairlift companies offer a year’s warranty on their new stairlifts, but as little as 3 months on reconditioned models.

How long will I have to wait for my new stairlift?

When we complete the survey of your staircase, a straight stairlift can be fitted the following day, if we have a suitable stairlift available. If we don’t have your specific stairlift in stock, it normally takes 5 days from order to delivery. So, as soon as it’s delivered, we will arrange a suitable time for installation.

The Brooks 180 curved stairlift has been designed in a modular way which means no complex manufacturing steps required to produce the finished installation. The most important benefit of this design is the speed in which a curved lift can be fitted, typically within 10 days from initial survey and order to completed installation.

Can I measure stairs myself to make installation even faster?

Yes, just download my easy to follow how to measure your staircase guide.

Take a note of the measurements on the downloaded form.

Contact me by phone or email and I will give you an instant quote, or arrange a suitable time for installation.

Do you offer service plans?

Service plans can be very costly, ranging from £100 to £300 depending on level of cover, and that’s just for straight stairlifts. We at Budget stairlifts keep service costs as low as possible. Please see our servicing page for details. Curved stairlift servicing is more expensive due to the complex nature of this equipment and is normally only offered by the main dealers or equipment manufacturers.

Do you repair or service stairlifts that you didn’t supply?

Certain models of stairlift can only be serviced by recognised dealers, so please call for details stating make and model.  We will be happy to give you advice on whether we can help, or point you in the right direction.

Do you buy pre-used stairlifts that are no longer needed?

We buy Acorn or Brooks straight stairlifts in working order. Any other makes or models we offer a removal service, for which charges apply. Please call for details, stating the make and model.
